The Opportunity:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an exceptionally driven and deeply connected Head of DeFi Partnerships to spearhead their strategic growth initiatives. This is a critical leadership role for an individual with an unparalleled understanding of the DeFi landscape and a proven track record of forging impactful, value-driven alliances. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the project's ecosystem, identifying synergistic opportunities, and establishing it as a cornerstone of the DeFi world.

The Role Involves:

  • Strategy & Vision: Developing and executing a comprehensive partnership strategy that aligns with the product roadmap and long-term business objectives.
  • Identify & Source: Proactively identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing potential strategic partners across the DeFi ecosystem (e.g., protocols, DAOs, infrastructure providers, aggregators, wallets, institutional players).
  • Negotiate & Close: Leading the end-to-end partnership lifecycle, from initial outreach and relationship building to negotiation, deal structuring, and contract execution.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivating and nurturing strong, long-lasting relationships with key partners, ensuring mutual success and identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the product, engineering, marketing, and legal teams to ensure seamless integration and successful go-to-market strategies for all partnerships.
  • Market Intelligence: Staying abreast of the latest trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities within the DeFi sector to inform partnership strategy.
  • Represent & Evangelize: Acting as a key ambassador for the project at industry events, conferences, and within the broader Web3 community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or strategic partnerships, with at least 3 years specifically within the DeFi / Web3 space.
  • A deep, demonstrable understanding of DeFi protocols, primitives, and ecosystems, with the ability to articulate technical and economic nuances.
  • An extensive network within the Web3 and DeFi industry, including key players, projects, and thought leaders.
  • A proven ability to identify, negotiate, and close complex strategic partnerships that drive significant value.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working at or deeply integrating with a DAO.
  • Familiarity with smart contract development or auditing principles.
  • Active participation in DeFi governance or community initiatives.
